The world of email is broken. Old protocols, obscure data formats, and fragmented standards have left developers frustrated. And email products woefully haven’t become collaborative or extensible.
We want to change that, by creating a modern layer for email, contacts, and calendar. Our mission is to build elegant products for large complex systems.
We believe in people. Creative, smart people who help each other do their best and be their best. We always respect and trust each other. We feel the same about our end users, customers, and developers.
People at Nylas work hard and are given lots of responsibility, with an extremely high bar for excellence. It’s expected that individuals own projects end-to-end and ship quickly with lots of autonomy. We value communication, accountability, inclusion, intellectual rigor, and positivity.
It’s always sunny at Nylas HQ, located at 695 Minna St. in the heart of beautiful San Francisco.
You will often also find us at neighborhood cafes, local bars, and the Mission Cliffs climbing gym. With an abundance of accessible eateries and entertainment at our doorstep, we never run out of things to do.
Nylas is a modern platform for email, calendars, and contacts. Our first product was simple APIs for developers. Today hundreds of applications are powered by Nylas Cloud infrastructure, including our flagship desktop app Nylas Mail.
The company was founded in 2013 by Michael Grinich and Christine Spang. Investors include 8VC, SV Angel, Fuel Capital, Great Oaks, Data Collective, and angels from Salesforce, Dropbox, Workday, and Nest.
