Over the last 15 years, companies around the world have rushed to hire developers to help build the next great customer experience. Innovative products and features have been launched at breakneck speed and the competitive landscape has continued to heat up with each passing day.
But behind the scenes, these same developers have been struggling to deliver features that are crucial to driving customer engagement, retention, and revenue in modern applications. One area that has been especially difficult is communications. Simply put, the ability for developers to access and leverage in a way that is secure, reliable and scalable has been hindered by the ever-increasing complexity of building and maintaining direct integrations to every service provider under the sun.
Nylas exists to solve these challenges by helping developers quickly and securely access communications data and deliver core features that boost their users’ productivity through a simple API integration.
Delivering a scalable solution like Nylas is no easy feat. Just today, over 450 customers around the world will use our platform to serve more than 1.2 billion API calls and sync 15TB of data. This level of performance is only achievable with the right resources to execute against the right ideas.
That’s why we’re excited to announce our latest funding round: $25M in Series B financing from 8VC and Round13 Capital, with participation from existing investors Spark Capital, ScaleUP, and Slack Ventures and new investors Citi Ventures. This brings our total funding to $55M.
Our recent acquisition of June.ai adds new capabilities to our platform which allow developers to aggregate, analyze, and automate communications in real-time and create deeply contextual user experiences. With this additional funding, we will be able to deliver even more product innovations to our global community of 40,000 developers, powering mission-critical features while slashing their time-to-market.
The next stage of our journey will see us intensifying our sales and marketing activities to expand our global reach. We plan to double our workforce over the next 12 months in key locations including San Francisco, New York City, and Denver as well as building a dedicated engineering hub in Toronto, Canada. We are hiring now and looking for brilliant people around the world to join our team.
