NYLAS VS CALENDLY · UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

Nylas vs Calendly: the best Calendly alternative for embedded scheduling in 2026

Calendly is a finished scheduling product you send people to. Nylas Scheduler is a booking layer on the Nylas Calendar API that runs inside your own product, with email, contacts and meeting recording on the same integration. Choose Calendly for ready-made booking pages, and Nylas for scheduling inside your product.

SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, with a pre-signed HIPAA BAA on paid plans Choose US (Iowa) or Europe (London) hosting per application Scheduler, Notetaker and Email API on the same integration Free plan for 5 connected accounts, with no credit card and no expiry

Why teams look for a Calendly alternative

Teams look beyond Calendly for three reasons: its embeds show Calendly’s own booking page, it charges per seat, and it doesn’t offer a HIPAA BAA.

Embeds show a Calendly page

Calendly’s developer docs embed a Calendly scheduling page inline, as a pop-up or as a floating widget. Nylas Scheduler provides web and React components that run in your app, and guests book without a Nylas account.

Pricing by seat

Standard is $10 and Teams is $16 per seat per month, billed yearly, and Enterprise starts at $15,000 a year for at least 50 seats. Nylas bills by connected account and offers a free plan with 5 accounts.

No HIPAA BAA

A July 2026 reply from Calendly’s community team says it doesn’t currently offer a BAA, and its security page lists no HIPAA report. Nylas undergoes independent HIPAA assessments and offers a pre-signed HIPAA BAA on all paid plans, on request.

Webhooks for every booking, message and event

One webhook subscription covers bookings, email, calendar and contacts across every connected account.

Signed notifications

Every webhook is signed with HMAC-SHA256 so you can confirm it came from Nylas.

Data in the payload

Notifications include the changed object, so most changes need no follow-up API call.

One subscription for every grant

A single endpoint receives changes from every connected account.

Five booking triggers

What Nylas covers that Calendly doesn’t

Scheduling inside your product, an Email API and a HIPAA BAA on the same integration as calendar

Booking inside your app

Scheduler components run in your app on your branding, and guests book without leaving your product or creating an account.

Email and contacts on one integration

The same connected account that powers booking can read and send mail and sync contacts. Calendly offers a Contacts API but no email API.

A pre-signed HIPAA BAA

Nylas undergoes independent HIPAA assessments and offers a pre-signed HIPAA BAA on all paid plans, on request. Calendly doesn’t currently offer a BAA.

Pricing comparison

Calendly bills by seat and Nylas bills by connected account, so cost depends on whether you buy booking pages for a team or embed scheduling for your customers.

Worked example

A team of 20 hosts pays $320 a month on Calendly Teams or $200 on Standard (20 seats, billed yearly), with the booking product included. On Nylas Pro, 20 calendars fit within the plan’s included accounts for $49 a month ($43 billed annually), but you build the product around Scheduler.

Embedding scheduling for 500 customer calendars costs about $746.50 a month on Nylas Pro ($49 plus 465 calendar-only accounts at $1.50), or $670.75 billed annually. If each of those customers needed a Calendly seat, 500 seats would list at $5,000 a month on Standard or $8,000 on Teams, billed yearly, before Enterprise pricing. White-labeled Scheduling Pages need Pro Annual.

Frequently asked questions

Need more help? Let’s talk!

Choose Calendly for ready-made booking pages with routing, payments and integrations. Choose Nylas to run scheduling inside your own product on the same integration as calendar, email, contacts and meeting recording.

Yes. Calendly API v2 can schedule meetings, create and update event types and availability, and manage contacts, and Calendly hosts an MCP server. It has no reschedule endpoint, and webhooks need a Standard, Teams or Enterprise plan.

Yes. Calendly sells Notetaker as an add-on for Standard and Teams plans. Nylas Notetaker joins Google Meet, Teams and Zoom and is included on every Nylas plan with bot hours.

Not currently. A July 2026 reply from Calendly’s community team says Calendly doesn’t offer a BAA and isn’t intended for collecting protected health information. Its security page lists SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, CSA STAR, PCI and ISO/IEC 27001, and no HIPAA report. Nylas offers a pre-signed HIPAA BAA on all paid plans, on request.

Yes, for one person. Calendly Free covers one event type, one calendar connection and one-on-one meetings. Standard is $10 and Teams is $16 per seat per month billed yearly, and Enterprise starts at $15,000 a year. Nylas Free covers 5 connected accounts, and Pro is $49 per month ($43 billed annually).

Calendly’s help center says it stores data in US data centers run by Google Cloud and AWS, with Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum covering EEA and UK transfers. Nylas offers European data residency in a UK-based region, London, chosen when you create an application.

Nylas Scheduler is built for developers who want scheduling inside their own product: web and React components, a Scheduler API, and email, contacts and meeting recording on the same integration. Calendly is the better choice when you want ready-made booking pages with no engineering.

Yes, as a Calendly page shown inline, as a pop-up or as a floating widget, and each host needs a Calendly seat. Nylas Scheduler runs as web and React components inside your app, and guests book without a Nylas account.

Calendly says it no longer accepts new iCloud Calendar connections, though existing ones keep working. Nylas connects iCloud Calendar along with Google, Microsoft 365, Outlook and Exchange.

Read your event types and availability through Calendly’s API v2, recreate each as a Scheduler Configuration, then have users connect their calendars to Nylas once, or connect them in bulk where the provider allows it. Routing, PayPal payments and integration-catalog connectors have no direct Nylas equivalent, and Stripe payments move to Scheduler.

Conclusion

Calendly and Nylas both handle round-robin booking and meeting recording. Calendly is a finished scheduling product, and Nylas is a calendar platform with scheduling that runs inside your app, so choose by whether scheduling is a tool your team uses or a feature your customers use. Choicely first looked at Calendly but found it couldn’t integrate the way it needed, then built its casting scheduling on Nylas 10x faster. Read the case study.

Choose Nylas if you embed scheduling in your own product, want email, contacts or meeting recording on the same integration, or need ISO 27701 or a HIPAA BAA.

Choose Calendly if you want booking pages with no engineering, routing, PayPal payments or a large integration catalog, or a free individual plan.
