Why We Launched Platform Builders: A Note from Christine Spang, CEO of Nylas

2 min read

When I stepped into the role of CEO at Nylas, one of the first things I did was start asking more questions.

Not just internally, but across our community—founders, developers, product managers, operators. I wanted to hear directly from the people building the future of software: What are you struggling with? What’s changing? What do you need from the platforms you rely on every day?

That curiosity became the seed for our new podcast: Platform Builders.

Listening to the Builders

The goal of Platform Builders is simple: to sit down with the people who are shaping the future of SaaS, APIs, and software infrastructure, and ask them the questions we don’t hear enough.

Where is the concept of a CRM headed? Why do so many platforms still rely on duct-taped integrations? How can we reimagine what “connected software” really means?

These are the conversations that inspire us at Nylas—and we know they’ll inspire you, too.

Our First Episode: The Future of CRM is No CRM

We’re kicking things off with a bold idea: maybe the future of CRM isn’t a CRM at all.

In Episode 1, I talk with Justin Belobaba, a founder and investor who’s been thinking deeply about how we build relationships with customers—and why our current tools aren’t cutting it.

We dig into what’s broken in today’s CRM model, how expectations are shifting, and what a truly intelligent, connected customer platform could look like.

A Podcast for Product People, Builders, and Curious Minds

Platform Builders isn’t just a podcast—it’s a series of ongoing conversations. If you’re building SaaS tools, thinking about integrations, or reimagining user experiences, this podcast is for you.

I’ll be hosting conversations with operators, developers, founders, and technologists who are all asking the same big questions: How do we build better software? What do users really want? And what does the future of platforms actually look like?

This is just the beginning—and I’m so excited to share what’s next.
